Live Well with Dementia Projects
Heeley Trust is part of the citywide People Keeping Well Partnership in Sheffield. We offer activities and groups for people living with Dementia and their carers, and are committed to making our spaces and events dementia friendly. We also offer signposting advice and additional support services. You can see dates and flyers for our regular/upcoming activity sessions below.
If you haven’t attended anything previously and would like to come along, get in touch with us for a chat about what we are doing next and what to expect from one of our sessions – You can find contact details at the bottom of this page.
Groups & Activities
Social Afternoons
These run weekly on Thursdays from 1pm-3pm at the Heeley Green Community Centre.
Each session is themed around a different activity for everyone to get involved in – We recommend that Carers and Family members attend with the person living with dementia, but we’re happy to chat about if someone wants to attend a session alone. Refreshments are provided.
Dementia Friendly sessions
Several of our community groups/events are open to all (including adults living with dementia and carers) such as our Community Meals and Chairobics sessions. Have a look at our ‘What’s On’ page to see what is taking place.
Additional Support Services
- Telephone support – We can call you for a friendly chat and offer practical support, advice and guidance.
- One-to-one meetings – If you’d prefer to have an in-person chat rather than a phone call, you can arrange a time to visit us at either Heeley Green Community Centre or Heeley People’s Park.
- Playlist For Life Support – We are a registered Playlist for Life help point, helping adults living with dementia to create the soundtrack to their lives. Playlist for Life is a UK music and dementia charity. They use the music of a person’s life to keep them connected to themselves and their loved ones throughout their dementia journey. Get in touch for assistance with making your own personalised playlist.
- Creative Activity Packs have previously been posted out to our participants. If you are interested in being sent these through the post, this can be arranged – We can also send paper copies of our flyers.
